Promise Walk for Preeclampsia Canada 2021

Promise Walk for Preeclampsia™ is the single most important fundraising initiative for Preeclampsia Foundation Canada that supports our mission to reduce maternal and infant illness and death due to preeclampsia, HELLP Syndrome and other hypertensive disorders of pregnancy through patient education, public awareness and research.

These walks are more than a fundraiser; they are events that bring together a community of people who have been affected by these disorders, to make connections, and to demonstrate the support of donors, sponsors, local media, community partners, and corporate sponsors, so those affected know they are not alone. It is also a time to honour those we have lost and to make a real stride towards ending preeclampsia!

We are thrilled that 2021 marks our 5th year of Promise Walks in Canada! The Promise Walk for Preeclampsia™ began in 2005 by our sister organization, the Preeclampsia Foundation. These walk events have raised millions of dollars to fund research and improve health care practices globally. 

Preeclampsia affects 5-8% of all pregnancies and approximately 10 million mothers will develop preeclampsia across the world each year, yet according to the World Health Organization (WHO), preeclampsia is one of the least funded areas of research. We need your help to realize our vision of a world where preeclampsia no longer threatens the lives of mothers and babies. Please join us!

Walking and being part of the Promise Walk for Preeclampsia™ is an annual tradition for many and this Preeclampsia Awareness Month is no different! Join us as we virtually continue our mission!

NATIONAL VIRTUAL WALK - It has never been easier to join and participate in the Promise Walk for Preeclampsia™! Register as a participant and join others across the country who are turning an ordinary walk into extraordinary action! 

You can create a team or join individually. You may want to set a fundraising goal and pledge to walk a certain amount of km's locally in honour of all those affected by preeclampsia each year. Thank you for "Making Strides and Delivering Hope"!
