This cause is significant to me because I had preeclampsia and HELLP syndrome when I was pregnant with Jane. Out of the blue, my blood pressure spiked, my liver failed, and Jane was delivered immediately by emergency c-section. Weighing only 2 pounds, Jane endured a long hospital stay. Both Jane and I survived this devastating disease, but there are many others who are not as fortunate and lives are lost. This is why I am so passionate about this cause.
The Promise Walk for Preeclampsia™ is the single most important fundraising initiative for Preeclampsia Foundation Canada that supports our mission to reduce maternal and infant illness and death due to preeclampsia through patient education, public awareness and research.
