I have been volunteering with Student Open Circles for almost 1 and a half years and I can definitely say that it has impacted me on an emotional and psychological level. From writing letters to seniors in isolation to virtually tutoring high school students, I've learned what it truly means to provide meaningful community service that is grounded in reflection and active-learning about our local issues. As a facilitator, I'm also gaining valuable skills in leadership and creating inclusive and open spaces for others.
