Climb Out of the Darkness is the world's largest event raising funds and awareness for the mental health of new families, and is operated by Postpartum Support International (PSI).
For the 2023 Canadian Climb Season, PSI has partnered with Life With A Baby Foundation (LWAB). Life With A Baby is committed to building a strong network of communities that provide ongoing social interaction and peer support to create confident, healthy families. Key services include support groups, social events, and free 1:1 therapy sessions. LWAB is excited to expand these services across the country.
Perinatal mood and anxiety disorders are the most common complications of pregnancy and childbirth, affecting 1 in 5 mothers and 1 in 10 fathers.
Climb Out of the Darkness brings communities together to shine a light on a darkness we often don't speak about. We share stories of hope and celebrate recovery as we gather together to raise awareness, give a voice to those who no longer have one, and walk together to symbolize our 'Climb' Out of the Darkness. Climb events are part community connection / part fundraiser for survivors, providers, and members of the community to give and receive much-needed support.
