As a youth, I struggled immensely with mental health, having suicidal ideations for many years. As I have grown, it has been through programs and the work run by charities similar to Student Open Circles that supported me on my journey to better mental health. The programming that Student Open Circles facilitates, both for students in supporting them on their journey to better understanding and loving themselves, as well as the community service it completes weekly for the city of Hamilton, embodies what I believe it means to be a good, compassionate person.
