On Saturday, August 23, help support Lakeshore General Hospital’s Oncology Clinic through this unique team-building activity. Teams of paddlers will take the waters of the Lachine Canal and experience the adrenaline and thrill of a race!
Teams consist of 20 paddlers and 1 drummer. Each team is expected to raise $5,250 (or $250 per team member), and prizes will be awarded to the top individual fundraisers!
Dragon boat racing requires no previous skill. It is easy to learn, promotes teamwork, health and exercise, and is an activity where men and women compete side-by-side toward the same goal. Regardless of age or physical condition, once a paddler is in stroke, they are contributing to their team.
With over 3,000 cancer patients treated annually, funds raised will help provide state-of-the-art equipment and massage therapy programs to best treat and care for our ever-growing West Island community.
