It’s that time! The 18th annual Naked Bungy Jump for Mental Health is on for March 2nd & 3rd! Brought to you by WildPlay Nanaimo and Mental Health Recovery Partners South Island (MHRP SI).

Take the leap from WildPlay’s 150-foot Bungy Bridge to help MHRP SI provide lifesaving, free and accessible mental health programs on Vancouver Island. If you raise $200+ in donations, you plunge for free! There are prizes for the top 3 fundraisers, so make sure you get the word out about your jump!

Since its inception 18 years ago, over 3000 adults have taken part in the Naked Bungy Jump. Collectively, we have raised over $500,000 to support mental health and well-being for over 35,000 people in the Vancouver Island region. The awareness and funds generated by Naked Bungy Jump help to support and empower over 5,000 youth and adults in our communities directly impacted by mental illness and mental health challenges and lessen the stigma of mental illness.

Last year, this event raised over $84,000 in registration fees, donations, and pledges. All event proceeds will be matched by a generous anonymous donor and donated to MHRP SI. Minimum age 18+ to be on site.

This year’s event is a double-double with not only matched donations but also two star jumpers stepping up and leaping off to lend their support to the event:

  • Q is a non-binary artist with lived and living experience of mental illness, hospitalization, homelessness and addiction. An accomplished musician, Q has won numerous awards and toured the world, performing in a musical duo with their younger brother. In addition to their performing prowess, Q is a popular and sought-after fiddle teacher.
  • Vivian Vanderpuss’ "charisma, uniqueness, nerve, and talent" landed her a spot in Canada’s Drag Race Season 3 and CBC Gem’s documentary series Canada’s a Drag. The self-described quirky cat mom and solution to the rat problem, Vivian has supported many charities and foundations including the Vancouver Island Persons Living with HIV/AIDS Society (VPWAS) and Skipping Stone and is now lending her stardom as a jumper to raise awareness and funds for MHRP SI.

This March, we hope to repeat and surpass our success!
