Collecte de fonds par Nicole Cirillo
My name is Nicole Cirillo. I am planning a 24hr fundraiser event called, “Relay and Raise RELOADED” for Bethesda in memory of my brother Cpl Nathan Cirillo.
Nathan was a proud soldier and a kid at heart. He loved being the centre of attention and he loved animals. He loved challenges. He loved adventure and risk. But most of all Nathan loved. He loved his family and friends. Nathan's love came with no judgment or hesitation. He would give the shirt off his back to go without. And anyone that knew him knows how much love was behind that perfect smile.
Why Bethesda?
Bethesda is a not-for-profit organization supporting people with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities. They are dedicated to serving children, youth and adults with special needs within an inclusive community through a network of clinical supports and services. They inspire, encourage, and empower children, youth and adults with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities, and their families, to live their best lives.
But to us, Bethesda is our home away from home. It’s our safe place. It’s our advocate. It’s our shoulder to cry on when in need and our cheerleader when we succeed. It’s our strength when we feel weak.
It’s full of goals and achievements. It’s 24/7 care. It’s workshops and classes. It’s patience and understanding. It’s friendship and teamwork. It’s love and support. It’s acceptance. It’s judgment free. Most of all it’s unconditional.
I can not thank Bethesda enough for being that place we can lean on to guide and support us through life. Bethesda gives us hope. They give us patience and respect. Bethesda gives us a sense of control and provide us with incredible life changing experiences alongside staff and peers. Bethesda is family.
I would like to take the opportunity to recognize Bethesda in honour of Nathan and donate the proceeds of the fundraiser to give back to families and help make their futures hopeful as ours.
