GALA RECEPTION

5:30 - 8:30 pm, Wed Nov 6, 2024

St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church (73 Simcoe St, Toronto)

$100 per person ($30 for students)(ticket purchase includes entrance, a beverage of your choice, and food.  Additional beverages available for purchase)

We'd be honoured by your presence at this gala event to:

1.) Support our current ministry with students

2.) Celebrate the legacy of the Rev'd. Ralph Carl Wushke who served as chaplain from 2004-2018

3.) Help launch our two-year $200,000 fundraising campaign to support inclusive campus ministry at U of T.

Your attendance would mean a lot!

The Rev'd. Daniel Cho and Mardi Tindal, former Moderators of the Presbyterian Church in Canada and the United Church of Canada respectively, will co-host a festive reception with friends and supporters. Enjoy a musical performance! Bid on the silent auction! We'd be thrilled to have you come join the fun. Proceeds from the evening will make a big difference in students' lives!

The Rev'd. Ralph Carl Wushke served as Chaplain from 2004 to 2018. Ralph was instrumental in taking the Chaplaincy's reputation, visibility, and community of supporters on campus and in the wider community to “the next level” and helping to build a strong foundation for the future with many dedicated volunteers, board and committee members. He pioneered the “I have called you friends” slogan from the Gospel of John, with board chair, the late Jean Armstrong and then board member, Alex Bisset, and developed a “new look” with designer Michael Clark. He founded the Qu(e)erying Religion programme in 2005 and the Grief Support programme in 2007 with Associate Chaplain Jeanette Unger which have continued to touch the lives of hundreds of students.

Attendees will hear from current students about the exciting ministry taking place on campus today, and have the opportunity to partner with ECUT by supporting our two-year $200,000 fundraising campaign to secure dedicated staffing and engaging programming to meet the increasing demands of providing pastoral care in a public space.
