While the past two years have been challenging for everyone, many seniors have felt more isolated and alone than ever. Afraid to leave their homes and apartments, they’ve relied on the kindness of volunteers for groceries, wellness checks, transportation and basic companionship.
For 40 years, Society of Sharing has provided those services and more to vulnerable seniors in the Toronto community. To ensure continued service and support throughout the pandemic we have adapted and developed new, safer ways of fulfilling our clients’ social, healthcare, grocery and transportation needs. All of that takes resources, which is why we are fundraising to help cover these costs.
This National Seniors' Month we invite you to join us or donate to our 5km fundraising "Walk the Walk" event.
We encourage you to take and share photos of your 5km walk/run, both on the Society of Sharing Facebook page and your own social media page. Your donors will appreciate seeing pictures of you in action.
Also, in support of Seniors' Month CanadaHelps has launched the Great Canadian Giving Challenge whereby participating charities will be entered into a draw to win $20,000. Every dollar donated to Society of Sharing is another entry into the draw.
PLEASE HELP US REACH OUR GOAL OF $15,000, IN SUPPORT OF SENIORS IN NEED!
