Welcome to the Second Annual Federation of Black Canadians and Skills For Life Impact Gala, an evening dedicated to celebrating Black Excellence in Canada and our ongoing commitment to working with, amplifying, and supporting Black Canadians through our programs.

We are incredibly proud of our partnership, which has led to the success of the Student Support Learning Program. This initiative has enabled us to work with Black youth across Canada, providing essential soft skills and scholarships to participants.

This is just the beginning of our journey and what we aspire to achieve.

Join us on Saturday, September 21, 2024, and be a part of the change as we continue to support and celebrate Black Canadian youth and their accomplishments.

Formal attire and online registration are required to attend.

This year’s gala promises an unforgettable experience with:

  • A Sit-Down Dinner: Enjoy a delectable multi-course meal of Caribbean cuisine
  • Captivating Live Performances: Be enthralled by an array of performances showcasing the incredible talents of Black artists and entertainers.
  • Exciting Auction: Participate in our auction featuring unique items and experiences, with all proceeds supporting our programs and initiatives.
  • Inspiring Stories: Hear firsthand from participants of our Student Support Learning Program, sharing their journeys and successes.

The Federation of Black Canadians is a national, non-profit organization, driven by organizations across the country that advances the social, economic, political and cultural interests of Canadians of African descent. As a Pan-Canadian body, the FBC seeks to discuss the opportunities, contributions and challenges that exist for people of African descent nationally. Skills for Life (SFL) is a charity that promotes the importance of life skills development to encourage success. We believe that there is a gap between hard skills taught in the classroom vs the softs skills needed for youth to persevere, overcome challenges, and access opportunities in pursuing a career in the real world. Our vision is that kids from all walks of life realise the tools they have within themselves to pursue their dreams. We work with youth ages 13-22 and provide workshops, mentorship, community engagements and events to support their personal and professional development.
