Shelter Movers (SM) is a national, volunteer-powered charitable organization providing moving and storage services at no cost to individuals and families fleeing abuse. We collaborate with local businesses and community agencies to support people, primarily women and children, as they transition to a life free of violence. SM is the only organization of its kind in Canada. Since 2016, SM has completed 7,500+ moves and grown from a single chapter in Toronto to 10 chapters serving multiple cities and their surrounding communities across Canada. Sadly, the need for these services continues to grow, both locally and across Canada. With your support, we will get closer to our vision of a country where every survivor has access to our services and can escape abuse and violence with power and dignity.
