The Inclusive Community Events Program

The Inclusive Community Events Program (ICEP) was launched in 2024 to honour the incredible legacy of past Pillar staff member Dharshi Lacey. The ICEP provides complimentary meeting and event space to small nonprofits and grassroots organizations are led by or that primarily serve equity-deserving groups, and have an operating budget of less than $100,000. 

Because of you, we offered 5 organizations the space to thrive in 2024.

Recipient Spotlight: Teens Get Involved London Ontario (TeensGILO)  

TeensGILO is an entirely volunteer-led grassroots organization, founded by local London youth Bayan Saidam and Zahra Nadeem. Bayan and Zahra run an Instagram account @Teens.Gilo connecting youth with local volunteer opportunities, and were looking for a space to take their work offline and expand their reach. 

Thanks to donors of the Inclusive Community Events Program, TeensGILO was able to connect over 50 students eager to volunteer in their community with local nonprofit organizations and charities. 

“Hosting annual events is so important to bring our virtual project to life! As soon as we entered Innovation Works, we knew that this would be the home of all of our upcoming events. The staff at Pillar made booking and executing our event easy, and the aesthetic interior design of the space guaranteed that all of our guests felt comfortable and welcome,” says Bayan, Co-Founder of TeensGILO
