The Anne-Marie Woods/Imani Enterprises ADTS is a form of community development and outreach to serve disadvantaged Black youth who may not have access to established creative programming.
It is specifically for African Nova Scotian Youth, African Caribbean Youth or African Youth based in Nova Scotia between the ages of 18 – 35, who do not have parental support or guardians, who come from marginalized neighborhoods or backgrounds, but still dream of being a spoken word artist, singer or theatre arts practitioner.
This scholarship is for youth who came to Nova Scotia as an immigrant or refugee, lives in a group home or a shelter where they are penning poems and spoken word pieces to themselves or creating monologues or scenes and they just need the support for their gifts to be realized.
