As some of you may know, I am a member of the Board of Directors for My Friend’s House, a 24/7 emergency shelter for women and children suffering abuse in South Georgian Bay. Sadly, My Friend’s House is operating at maximum capacity almost all the time, which speaks to the need for this sort of facility in our community. I’m walking in their signature fundraiser, The Red Shoe Walk, on Saturday, September 23 in downtown Collingwood to help raise valuable funds for shelter operations. This is a fun and lighthearted way to address a very serious issue in our community and I’d love your support. My Friend’s House works to raise half of their operating dollars each year and this fundraiser is a big part of that work. If you could pledge my walk in red heels through downtown Collingwood, I would be very grateful. I’ll share some pics once we’ve walked.
