Hike for Hospice 2020

On the first Sunday of May each year, Hospices across the country participate in the "Hike for Hospice".  The Hike is a national campaign aimed to raise much-needed funds for hospice palliative care in Canada, and to increase awareness of the services, supports and benefits that Hospice Palliative Care offers those who are ill, dying and grieving.

This year Mariposa House Hospice and Hospice Orillia will once again work together to ensure that the community of Orillia will have access to the quality of care they not only need but deserve through their life journey.  

Location: Couchiching Beach Park, Pavilion 1         

Hike Route: Couchiching Beach Park to Tudhope Park, along the Millenium Trail, (and return)

Date: May 3rd, 2020                                  

Registration: 1pm-2pm

Hike Time: 2pm-3:30pm

All are welcome to join us, and to raise support for Hospice Orillia and Mariposa House Hospice! There is be great fun to be had along with prizes up for grabs!

Thanks to our Hike for Hospice sponsors, 100% of the funds raised through the Hike for Hospice in Orillia will remain in our area.

The money raised through the Hike is used in many ways, including:

• providing high quality, locally supportive palliative care
• providing care for pain and symptom management
• planning with loved ones for a team approach to care
• to train, and to support, our visiting volunteers
• to provide respite care for caregivers, and
• to provide ongoing bereavement support.

Each participant is asked to raise funds by way of pledges through an online giving page or through cash/cheque donations using our pledge forms which can be downloaded here.
