WHAT DOES THE 2023 HIKE FOR HOSPICE LOOK LIKE?

Hike for Hospice is Hospice Northwest’s only major fundraising event of the year. Together, we have raised over $550,000 for palliative care in our community since 2012!

Join us on May 28th at St. Ignatius High School for our pre-Hike festivities from 9 - 10 am.  We will then meet across the street at 10:30 am at Boulevard Lake Park to begin our 12th Annual Hike for Hospice!

Planning is still in the early stages for the 2023 event, but we hope to have local vendors, including food trucks, a kid's area with clowns, a bagpiper, musical entertainment and more to celebrate the 2023 Hike for Hospice.

In-Person Hike

If you would like to participate in our in-person event, we will be meeting at 10:30 am on Sunday, May 28th at Current River Park. More details can be found on our Hospice Northwest website.

Virtual Hike

If Hikers can't make the May 28th gathering, they also have the option to walk where they are most comfortable over the weekend of May 26-28th.

Memorial Video Montage

If you would like to display a photo of a loved one in our video montage , please email us the photo before May 19th. Emails can be sent to hike@hospicenorthwest.ca.

The video will be ready to watch on Friday for those that chose to walk prior to Sunday. We'll have the video available on our Facebook page, YouTube, and at www.hospicenorthwest.ca 

Register for Hike for Hospice

1. REGISTER: Join or start a team, or register as an individual Hiker by clicking the buttons above. You can create your own fundraising page and gather pledges from friends and family

2. COLLECT PLEDGES:

• Download the Hike for Hospice Pledge form here

• First 100 Hikers to register will receive a Hiker’s gift

• All Hikers will get a flower to use in the Remembrance Ceremony

• Hikers that raise $45 or more will receive a colourful ribbon to tie to the Butterfly Remembrance Wall at the Adelaide Monarch Butterfly Garden

• We are asking that THE MAJORITY OF FUNDS be raised through this fundraising site, or that pledges be sent to HNW by e-transfer or through credit card or cheque

3. SEND US A PHOTO of the person you are Hiking in memory of, and we will include your photo in a video montage to be played Sunday morning prior to the Hike. Email your photo by May 19th to hike@hospicenorthwest.ca

4. PICK-UP YOUR HIKERS' KIT: FRIDAY, May 26th we will have a table set up in the St. Joseph Heritage's parking lot between noon and 4 pm. The first 100 Hikers will receive a Hikers bag with some nice goodies inside. 

5. VIDEO LAUNCH: On Friday May 26th at 10 AM, we will share our Hike for Hospice Launch Video. We'll have the video available on our Facebook page, YouTube, and at www.hospicenorthwest.ca 

6. HIKE FOR HOSPICE!: Hike whenever, wherever you are comfortable, either around Boulevard Lake or in a setting of your choice!

7. Hike for Hospice 50/50 Raffle: Tickets are available online at https://www.rafflebox.ca/raffle/hospicenorthwest
