The staff, administrative and clinical, are "Hiking for Hospice" on May 30th because we see the need in the Community, for in-home hospice care, for bereavement support and for having a hospice home, Tomkins House, where people can go for end-of-life care that feels like more like a home not a hospital.

We see the relief in the family as they realize they don't have to bear the burden of daily care for their loved one. That they can go back to being family not caregivers and focus on life, memories and things that matter to their loved one and themselves.

Seeing the impact of our work and realizing that without community support, it can't happen is giving us the extra incentive to get out there and Hike for Hospice.  Our vital services are free to our clients and their families but only 50% funded by the provincial government - the balance coming from generous people like you.
