Parent's Circle Hike for Hospice

We Hike for Hospice because of the support, reassurance and comfort we received from the staff and volunteers at Hospice Huronia during our time of need.

Hospice has a gentler way of dealing with death and loss than most other places in the community. As a culture, we aren’t often taught how to grieve so the support was invaluable.  It gave us a safe space to connect with others who have dealt with loss and to learn how to cope with a life turned upside down. For bereaved parents like us, hospice provides space for connection with others who have experienced a similar loss and we can share openly about our feelings and struggles. Some of us have even had children in Tomkins House and we are grateful we were able to visit together as a family.

Hospice Huronia has helped each of us in many ways and we are grateful for their ongoing support. We hike for hope.
