Aperçu
The Saskatchewan Environmental Society and Affinity Credit Union have joined forces to help non-profit organizations and small businesses learn how to operate their buildings more efficiently.
This in-person training is suitable to whoever operates your building – whether it is the Executive Director, Administrator, or a facility operator.
Learn how to efficiently operate your lighting, electrical equipment, heating, ventilation and cooling, and reduce your water use.
This training normally costs $300 per person, but with generous support from Affinity Credit Union we are able to offer it to you for only $40 per person, or $20 per person if you or your organization are Affinity members (use promo code 'AFFINITY').
Participants receive:
- Six hours of training,
- Copy of slides,
- Workbook
- A certificate of completion.

This in-person training will run from 9AM - 4PM (lunch provided) and covers:
Heating, Ventilation, and Cooling (HVAC):
Learn about the overall operation of HVAC systems, indoor air quality as it relates to energy efficiency, energy saving calculations, energy efficient operation & troubleshooting for thermostats, fans, motor controls, building automation systems, heat recovery, condensing heating systems, air conditioning & heat pumps!
Lighting, Electrical Equipment, and Water:
Learn about energy monitoring, load scheduling, electricity and water saving calculations, electricity billing, demand & consumption, solar energy, water conservation opportunities, leak detection, prevention & maintenance, lighting basics (light levels, colour temperature), lighting controls, daylighting, outdoor lighting, & more!
Saskatchewan Environmental Society’s professional instructors will deliver the sessions using plain language, suitable for either technical or non-technical attendees:
- Ted Cooke, P.Eng. HDA Engineering, is a mechanical engineer, and experienced HVAC design engineer (HVAC)
- Angie Bugg, P.Eng., C.E.M. Saskatchewan Environmental Society, works with small businesses and non‐profit organizations to identify energy conservation upgrades in their facilities. (Lighting, Electrical, and Water)
- Mark Feraro, E. Eng. Tech, C.E.A., RHLG. Saskatchewan Environmental Society, conducts energy audits on buildings, and customizes energy conservation training for a variety of clients. (Lighting, Electrical, and Water)
This training is delivered from Treaty 6 Territory and the Homeland of the Métis Nation.
