As the nation-wide leader and champion for mental health, Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA) helps people access the community resources they need to build resilience and support recovery from mental illness or addiction. We do this by building capacity, influencing policy, providing services and developing resources. Together we positively impact change, create a community that supports mental health and reduces the stigma associated with mental illness.
Canadian Mental Health Association, Vancouver-Fraser (CMHA-VF) branch has been serving the Metro Vancouver area since 1958.We are transforming mental health and wellness practice for individuals, communities and organizations through programs and services that are rooted in innovation, inclusion and collaboration.
Core Priority: People First!
We are here to help people. Our programs and services are intended to improve people’s lives. It is people – our team members, partners, volunteers and donors – who make that support possible.
There are three strategic priorities guiding our work over the next few years:
- Network collaboration: Our goal will be to establish a network of cooperative services in collaboration with our existing and new partners to help enhance access to mental health supports in the community.
- Innovative programming: Recognizing that mental health awareness and needs have increased over the past few years, and through collaboration with partners, we aim to explore new programming across the continuum from prevention to recovery.
- Revenue & capacity growth: In order to respond to the increasing need for our support, our revenue growth is focused on increasing capacity to deliver and expand our programs throughout the Vancouver and Fraser Valley region.
We provide a range of valuable services to support individuals in their mental health and recovery journey:
- Housing: Our Housing Programs assist individuals in finding independent living arrangements while fostering essential skills to aid their recovery from mental illness.
- Programs: We offer diverse mental health programming tailored to children, youth, adults, and seniors, ensuring comprehensive support for all age groups.
- Employment: CMHA-VF facilitates various workshop initiatives, including self-employment services, work placements, and training sessions, aimed at enhancing mental health within the workplace.
- Wellness Programs: Whether you are managing a mental illness, supporting a loved one, or striving to improve your overall well-being, CMHA, Vancouver-Fraser provides resources to develop mental health skills and resilience for yourself and your family.
