Our Mission
The Canadian Spine Research & Education Fund (CSREF)is a charitable organization whose mandate is to promote spine research and education in Canada.
About Canadian Spine Research & Education Fund
The CSREF’s mandate includes funding spinal research for both adults and children. Canada is home to many internationally recognized leaders in both spine surgery and non-surgical care. These expert researchers need continuing financial support if they are to continue to lead.
The CSREF has taken on the role as the principal source of financial support for the Canadian Spine Research and Outcome Network (CSORN), a national spine registry database collecting information on spine surgery across the country. Given the complexity and scope of the problem, large multi-centered studies are necessary to produce meaningful data. National spine registries are rare and we are fortunate to have one that continues to grow here in Canada. The effort and collaboration required to be able to continue to collect, analyse and understand the information is enormous and expensive. The CSREF is committed in helping to provide and maintain its funding.
