This unusual combo of clarinet and marimba blends the adventurous spirit of Nordic explorers with the allure of the Northern Lights. Viđarneistí is Icelandic for “wood spark” and aptly describes what happens when the rich, sultry tone of the Catherine Wood’s clarinet meets the percussive punch of Victoria Spark’s marimba. The duo’s shared Icelandic heritage is a springboard to explore its Nordic roots with audiences, as these warm and personable artists innovate from a variety of styles and genres.
