Hello, I’m Hussein. In 2010, I lost my sight. It was just a little over 2 years ago when I became a member of BALANCE. Because of BALANCE, I’ve learned to use my iPhone independently. Now, I can send text messages, check emails, and read/sign important documents. My BALANCE AT instructor has been incredibly understanding, tailoring the lessons and materials to my goals and needs.
BALANCE offers not only one-on-one programs but also group sessions that have greatly benefited me. One of the popular programs I participated in was the Stay Safe! Self-Defense In-Person class. Self-defense has taught me how to stay composed during emergencies, making me more aware and vigilant of my surroundings. Thanks to BALANCE, I’ve gained confidence and courage in facing life’s challenges.
