CAMPAIGN 2024
Each year we host a fund raiser to support the operations of our autism resource centre, Autism Connections. The goal of the fund raiser is $20,000! This money will support numerous programs and activities offered to over 300 families in our area. This fund raiser is a bowling event in which up to 12 teams will compete for prizes and glory at a competition held on Saturday, November 16th at the DROME, a local bowling alley.
WHO ARE WE?
Autism Connections Fredericton offers important family services to the greater Fredericton and Oromocto communities. We are, first and foremost, a resource centre where families can find valuable and reliable information on autism diagnosis, assessment, intervention and life skills. We also provide skills courses from time to time on select topics such as learning to ride a bike, gymnastics, Tae Kwan Do, swimming, cooking, art, music and many other areas of interest. We host summer camps, tutoring sessions, and other services that come available. We offer opportunities for persons with autism to socialize in a supportive atmosphere at teen nights and sessions for siblings and adults. We also host support groups for parents, education sessions for parents and some larger workshops for the whole community. ACF provides recreational and social activities for the whole family such as Halloween and Christmas events, sleigh rides, and many other events. Finally, ACF is all about connections and we work hard to make sure families are connected to each other and to the best services possible in our region.
HOW DO YOU PARTICIPATE?
The Autism Connections Bowl-A-Thon will be at THE DROME BOWLING ALLEY on SATURDAY, November 16th from 2 to 4 PM. HERE ARE SOME ACTIONS YOU CAN TAKE:
• Captain Your Own Team
• Sponsor a Team
• Join a Team
• Donate to a Team or to a Player of your Choice
We aim to have up to 12 teams of 5 bowlers each. Each team will have the objective of raising a minimum of $2000 - averaging about $400 per player. If each player can get $20 donations from 20 friends, their personal goal will be achieved. Rather than going door to door, bowlers will direct their potential donors to our campaign page on the Canada Helps Web Site. You might use e-mail, text, or other social media methods (Facebook, Instagram).
Our Bowl-A-Thon web page has photos and facts and each Team has it's own link on the site so they can post their own information and photos. Prizes will be given for the 3 teams and 3 individuals that raise the most funds.
TAX RECEIPTS: We are a certified charity so we offer Tax receipts for those who donate. If you donate online tax receipts are sent immediately by e-mail upon donation by Canada Helps. For those who donate offline, official tax receipts will be mailed to you for donations of $15 or more.
You can be a Team Captain (maximum of 12 Teams) or a team member ( 4 additional persons per team) or simply pledge your support online to a team of your choosing. Whatever way you support us, we thank you for supporting people on the Autism Spectrum! Click to join any team!
ALTERNATIVE OPTIONS:
If you are unable to make the set date but still want to participate, we are offering a variety of alternative options for participation.
• Bowl at your favourite bowling alley at a date and time of your choosing. If you do take this option, then take photos and/or videos and submit them to us for posting on our web site!
• If you would prefer to stay in the comfort of you own home, then we recommend you and your team participate through an online bowling game of your choosing, either on your phone or your computer.
• If simply don't like bowling but would like to ride a bike, or walk, or play "Tidly Winks” or any other activity, you can set up a team and help us raise funds for our programs for the coming year.
WE THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR SUPPORT!
