image001The Electronic Recycling Association (ERA) is a Canadian based, non-profit organization focused on reducing the adverse environmental impact of waste through the re-purposing or recycling of unwanted electronic equipment. Simply put, we want to help keep old computers out of landfills. We also want to make sure the less fortunate in our society have access to the technology they need to succeed at no cost to them. The ERA has worked with some of the biggest charitable organizations in the country to provide IT equipment. This includes United Way, the Kids Cancer Care Foundation, the Canadian Paraplegic Association, the Cerebral Palsy Association and many more.

Catholic Family Service SmallWe have opened reuse centres where unwanted equipment is accepted, evaluated and then refurbished if it shows reuse potential. From there we respond to hundreds of donation requests from charitable and non-profit organizations every year. We have recently opened a depot in Saskatchewan (Saskatoon), and our goal is to make difference to the community in this region. For this reason, we will be focusing much of our donation activity in Saskatchewan for the next few months. We are looking to partner with organizations whose aim is to create opportunity and provide support for less-fortunate Canadians or those experiencing hardship.

Muscular DystrophyIn addition to donation activity, the ERA also has depots across the country where unwanted electronics may be dropped off, free of charge. The ERA also offers reliable corporate pick-ups as necessary. All items accepted by the ERA undergo stringent data erasure processes in a secure facility and are evaluated for reuse by trained experts. If possible, the ERA strives to reuse anything that could be of value to a person in need. Please contact us for more information on our reuse programs and the options available to individuals and corporations at the toll-free number provided below.

If the charitable or non-profit organization you are involved with needs equipment to help run programs, or if individuals utilizing their services could benefit from a computer, please contact the ERA. We can be reached by phone: 1.877.9.EWASTE or email lana@era.ca. To fill out a donation application form directly on our website, please visit: https://www.era.ca/applications
