World Autism Day St. Pius X Civvies Day

Civvies Day in support of Autism Ontario will be held on World Autism Day, Tuesday, April 2^nd, 2024. This year, students are invited to wear gold or yellow Civvies, in honour of Autism Awareness. The TCDSB World Autism committee has developed a rainbow infinity symbol and has chosen the colour gold because gold on the periodic table is represented by the letters

“Au” which is also the first two letters of Autism. The infinity symbol is relatively new, with its focus on inspiration, inclusion, remembrance, and thoughts of Autistic individuals. It’s often linked with all the colours of the rainbow to represent the diverse uniqueness of the autism spectrum. Infinity on its own represents something incapable of ending. This is a day to celebrate people with autism, their families and caregivers, and to raise awareness about the rights of children and adults with autism.
