I’m going up the riverbank in the river valley so we can all “up” the food bank in Edmonton!
On February 11, I will be doing a Winter Everest. An Everest is a cycling challenge that the creators describe as “FIENDISHLY SIMPLE, YET BRUTALLY HARD. EVERESTING IS THE MOST DIFFICULT CLIMBING CHALLENGE IN THE WORLD.” Ride the same hill over and over again until you reach 8849m, the elevation of Mount Everest. Sleeping is not allowed. Typically, this challenge is done on a road with a skinny-tired road bike, but I will be doing it on a gravel path in the Edmonton River Valley on my fat bike in the snow. I will need to ride the hill 220 times and it will probably take about 24 hours. Feel free to join for a lap or two… while following current COVID protocols, of course.

Please join me in this endeavor to raise funds for the Edmonton Food Bank. People shouldn’t be going hungry. The pandemic and struggling economy have been tough on everyone. Many in our community need help, so let’s help the Edmonton Food Bank in their mission to provide food and other essentials to those in need. They buy in bulk so they can really stretch donated dollars. Let’s all donate to help out!
