The long haul

On June 15th, myself and Shane  will each pack 30lbs and carry it ("ruck" )for 24 hours around the Glenmore Reservoir for Spinal Cord Injury of Alberta

Through this fundraiser I hope to provide hope for what's possible, raise awareness as well as funds that will be used for research, services and tools to empower persons with spinal cord injuries and other physical disabilities to regain a quality of life and achieve Independence and full community participation.

On July 6th, 2015, my life was changed forever. Paralyzed on my entire right side from a rare neurological condition called Transverse Myelitis. The sections of my spine that were damaged was from c2-c7.   I have come much further than expected against the odds I was given but it's come with a price. That price gets paid every day facing the challenges that come with these circumstances.  I understand the need for hope with stories of success, I understand the physical, mental and emotional struggles that are faced. I understand the value of services and accessibility to services that help progress and improve the quality of life after spinal cord injury.
