Rainbow Bridge

Rainbow Bridge is a Circle of Hope created within Rainbow Refugee, a Vancouver organization that supports refugees seeking protection in Canada because of persecution based on sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, and sexual characters (SOGIESC) or HIV status. Rainbow Refugee works in partnership with Immigration, Refugees Citizenship Canada (IRCC).

What is the mission of this Circle? We aim to raise the funds and complete the paperwork necessary to bring one specific family here to Vancouver. This will cost around $75,000.

Who are the family we are supporting? This large family includes a number of children and a member of the LGBTQ+ community. Some family members have actively protested the Taliban regime and their lives are in danger. The entire family has escaped to another country, where they anxiously await our help.

What is our goal? We will support the family through their application for refugee protection inCanada, help them relocate, then find housing, and resettle.

How can you help? We need donations of money and goods that we can raffle or auction to raise money. Our ultimate goal is to raise $120,000. Thus far, we have raised $23,756.58.
