As part of PCL Ottawa's PRIDE celebrations this year we have partnered with the Ten Oaks Project to sponsor a spot at their summer camp - Camp Ten Oaks.
The first, and only, camp program of its' kind, Camp Ten Oaks offers a space for 2SLGBTQ+ youth between the ages of 8-17 to safely enjoy a summer camp experience. The Ten Oaks program has been so successful that in 2018 the organization opened a second camp and now gives more than 200 youth from the Ottawa area the opportunity to enjoy a full week at summer camp.
"Our programming variety allows campers to receive instruction, strengthen old skills and develop new ones with the option to participate in outdoor adventure, waterfront, arts, social justice activities and sports. We empower children and youth through play that enhances self-esteem, life skills, independence, leadership and self-confidence."
PCL's goal this year is to raise the $1,460 needed to fund a spot at Camp Ten Oaks for an Ottawa youth from an under-served local community.
Every donation above $3.00 will receive a tax receipt. Our fundraiser will end on June 30, 2023.
