nobrainR - Race for Mental Health Fund

nobrainRacing has partnered with Sidewaze Motorsports and Brainy Bites for 2020 and is racing to get out in front of the sometimes devastating impact mental health challenges can have on youth today.

Some facts:

• Mental Health impacts 1 in 5 Canadians and is growing at an alarming rate.
• 70% of mental health problems have their onset during childhood or adolescence.
• By the time Canadians reach 40 years of age, 1 in 2 have – or have had – a mental illness.
• The disease burden of mental illness and addiction in Ontario is 1.5 times higher than all cancers put together and more than 7 times that of all infectious diseases. This includes years lived with less than full function and years lost to early death.

So from team nobrainRacing, Sidewaze Motorsports and Brainy Bites to you; we have lived the journey; climbed mountains; chased the shadows; made life changing sacrifices; and fortunately came out the other side with scars but generally intact as do most with treatment and help. The challenge does not always leave so you must be ever vigilant. Realize this does not just impact the person living with the illness but many around them.
