About Fundraiser

Fundraiser by Amanda Hamilton

Being bullied wasn’t cool in 1995… and it still isn’t cool. As a kid and young adult that suffered at the hands of many bullies throughout my formative years, one of my only coping mechanisms was turn each of these horrific incidents into a sad but telling diary entry. While I’d never wish to go back to those days, these entries allowed me to return to these stories, reflect on them as an adult and ultimately helped me return to these moments in my book. Writing these short stories was not only an outlet for my own healing, but I hope that in some small way, it also allows others to feel seen and know that many of us have shared experiences.

If you're looking for a way to show your support this Pink Shirt Day, I will be donating 50% of the profits of my book, Not That Likeable: And Other Stories I Told Myself, starting February 22 until the end of the month. These funds will go directly to the Distress Centre’s ConnecTeen program, a confidential crisis line for teens, by teens. Your support will help keep this amazing service alive and make sure that youth affected by bullying get the help they need. Click here to buy my book.
