UPDATE 11/03/23
Challenge done! The Team powered through a class with Amanda at The Cycle Collective. It was a challenge as most had never done a class before. I'm grateful to the boys and their families support. Now we head to the playoffs and CSSHL playoffs. I will continue riding until April 2nd, Autism Acceptance Day. We are so close to our goal of $30,000, thank you for all of your support!!
UPDATE 08/03/23
Just two days until the St. George's School U18 hockey team and I hit the bikes to ride in support of AutismBC! Many thanks to The Cycle Collective for donating their studio space and instructor time.
UPDATE & NEWS!!! 26/02/23 -
On March 10th the hockey team I coach, St. George's U18, will be joining me at The Cycle Collective to take part in a high intensity spin class. The boys are trading blades for bikes and challenging themselves to a new sport to show their support of my cause and help raise funds.
I am grateful for their help and appreciate all of the support you have shown me thus far.
As the father of a son on the spectrum, I understand the hurdles many families can face and the financial strain finding resources and programs that suit a child's needs. I feel very fortunate that we have been able to find the support we have needed and would like to help ensure other families can have access to programs as well.
AutismBC has been a resource and advocate for many and I want to help them in their mission.
I am committed to ride the 60 km round trip commute to work until April 2nd, World Autism Acceptance Day.
I 'm riding to raise awareness and my hope is that every kilometre I ride gets us closer to providing resources and support to families with kids on the spectrum.
Stay tuned for my new year update where I will be challenging others to get on the bike to ride Kms for Kids.
Thank you for your kind consideration and your help in my efforts to raise awareness and contribute to the great programs at AutismBC.
