During the week of April 29th  to the May3rd, SAC will be hosting our annual Charity Week. Charity Week is John Fraser’s epic annual, week-long charity fundraiser. Each homeroom and club is asked to brainstorm a creative way they can raise money. This can include selling goods, providing services, asking for donations - the sky’s the limit! The goal is to compete to raise as much money for charity as possible. Some successful initiatives in the past have included: pie-in-the-face, food sales, video game tournaments, homework buddies, student food/coffee delivery, secondhand book stores and open gym.

Annual Charity Week proceeds, which in the past have ranged from $10,000 to $15,000, go towards a charity proposed by the student body and selected by SAC. Last year, we raised over $12,000 for Easter Seals Ontario, and pre-COVID, we raised $15,000 in donations of cash and wheelchairs for Equip Kids International. Since its inception in 1990, John Fraser’s Charity Weeks have raised a total of $295,000!!! We are excited to add to this amazing total!

This year our fundraising efforts will go towards the selected charity, Union of Medical Care and Relief Organizations Canada:  This is an established, global charity that aims to provide medical relief and rebuild communities that are affected by natural disasters or conflict.
