Ubuntu: a Zulu word often translated as “I am because we are”.
Hey friends and family!
I am a member of Ubuntu, one of the touring choirs of Burman University. When I was first introduced to the choir, I almost chose not to audition as I felt that I might not have enough to give. Yet, since my first year, this choir has awoken dormant talents in me and played an instrumental part in my growth and spiritual life. Our choir is more than a musical ensemble; it is a family. We pursue excellence together, recognizing that our individual humanity is woven into one another’s. We tell our interwoven stories through song.
This year, we have the wonderful opportunity to go to the Bahamas to worship in song and service. I humbly solicit your help, for it is true that – as our name reminds us – we exist because of others. This trip will not be possible without donations, no matter how big or small. When you support Ubuntu, your contribution goes beyond funding – it helps build bridges of hope in the communities we visit. And by supporting me, you become an integral part of our collective journey, making the experience richer for everyone involved.
