Eighteen months ago I ran my first 10K and I used that opportunity to raise awareness and financial support for Toronto City Mission (TCM). Thanks to the generosity of friends like you, we raised over $1,600!
The need to serve those who are less fortunate hasn't decreased over the past eighteen months, and TCM continues to do great work around the city. This coming weekend (Oct 16) I'm upping the ante, and will run in my first half marathon. I want to use this opportunity to again raise financial support for TCM.
My goal this time is to raise $2100. Your inner mathematician will realize that this is $100 per kilometer. It might be a challenge given there are only days to go...but friends like you gave with such enthusiasm last time that I'm sure we can hit the goal this time around. And speaking from experience, having a group of you support my race will give me extra motivation to complete the run! It's a win-win!
For this race I'm aiming to finish in under 2 hours. Wish me luck!
