On May 6th, 2016, two-year-old Jude McGee died suddenly from influenza B. His life was too short, but everything is better because he was here at all. Each year leading up to his anniversary we remember him by trying to help make things easier for other families in whatever way we can. This year we're all going through something big together and the biggest need is clear.

In December, Jude's big sister Isla, now 9, had questions about the food drive. She was most concerned that we seem to only have them during the holidays: 'Wait, but if no one should ever go hungry because there's not enough food in the house, then why do we only do this once a year? Isn't this a problem all year?' She asked immediately if we could do more to help people in the spring, wondering if she could organize a food drive at school.

COVID-19 has closed all the schools, and increased the need for donations to all our food banks. This year we're supporting Isla's hope to help all our communities in Jude's memory. She has set a goal of $2000 and would be honoured to have your support. Many of us feel helpless in this time of crisis. If you're able, giving to Food Banks Canada is a great way to be someone's hero.
