I haven’t cut my hair for several years now and a few years ago, a friend of mine suggested I donate my hair in memory of my mom so I have had to grow it to a length of 12-14 inches long. My mother was one of the best humans I have ever known. She passed away from cancer and she lost her hair while going through chemo therapy. It was really difficult on her … I can’t imagine how difficult it could be on young people going through the same thing. I plan to donate all my hair as a tribute to my mother.
On my birthday (March 29) I will be cutting all my hair off and donating it to Angel Hair For Kids. Every year thousands of Canadian children lose their hair to cancer treatments, alopecia and other medical causes. The act of providing a wig will increase a child’s self-esteem and confidence during a difficult time in their young lives. It typically takes between 10 and 12 donated ponytails and $2,000 to sponsor one Angel Hair For Kids child.
We will be collecting donations up until a day after my birthday in hopes of having enough for a minimum of 2 sponsored wigs.
Any of you top donators are welcome to personally cut off a lock of my hair on my birthday !
Also … If you are interested in donating funds as well as your hair towards the cause … You are able to donate your hair locally to Serenity Wig Boutique in Grande Prairie as they work directly with Angel Hair For Kids.
So please donate all you can and help the kids and in the process let’s Clean up Kevin.
