For more than half a century, Camp Bowen has been a cornerstone of Canada’s Visually Impaired Community and a second home to countless children, youth and adults. For many Canadians living with a visual impairment, Camp Bowen is the one place where they can truly be themselves. Whether it is swimming independently for the first time or just meeting likeminded people, Bowen is a sanctuary, where blindness is not a barrier and campers are encouraged to reach their full potentials.
Camp Bowen, once operated by CNIB, has been run by the Camp Bowen Society for the Visually Impaired, a Chapter of the Canadian Council of the Blind, since fall 2010. All of our current staff are volunteers who are passionate about the project and have put in hundreds of hours of their own time to keep camps alive.
We need your help to cover rising program costs and keep this valuable program going. All donations we receive from this Canada Helps campaign will go directly into our 2017 operating budget to support camp programs.
We thank you in advance for your generosity.
