:: ALL-LEVELS YOGA WITH LIVE MUSIC (& TEA!) ::
Join us again at Breathe Yoga + Wellness Centre in the Junction for a revitalizing and restoring all-levels yoga class supporting education in Kenya. This unique yoga experience seamlessly flows the styles of three yoga teachers into one class, with the euphoric sounds of a live musician playing to the class to deepen our flow.
We’ll start off by drawing our connection into the ground, the breath and each other with pranayama as we enter into sacred shared space. We’ll then flow through some energizing movement and vinyasa. The class will close with restorative holds and a guided meditation to bring us into a deep savasana. Led by Bibi Hahn, Tyler Jackson and Amanda Stokes, live flute, cello, djembe, kamel n’goni and didgeridoo will be played during the class by Jennifer Gillmor. After class, bask in the ambient vibes over delicious tea, homemade cookies and the lovely company of each other.
Theme :: GATHER. Winter is coming. As the seasons change, we gather what we need to survive the coming months. The energy and heat of our yoga practice propels us forward, as we come together as a community to share in gratitude.
NOTE:
+ Part of this event will be respectfully photographed
+ This event will be scented with high-grade essential oils from Saje.

:: ABOUT US ::
BIBI HAHN // Bibi Hahn has been practicing yoga for 40 years. Her style is highly influenced by Kripalu Yoga and the work of Eric Schiffman. She did her Flowyoga Teacher Training with Kaila Kukla and began leading yoga classes at Yogaspace on Ossington in the early 90’s. She has been teaching and leading Flow Yoga Teacher Training there for close to 20 years. Bibi's philosophy is that yoga asanas are tools we use for looking inward. Looking inward requires a quiet mind, a stillness that reveals to us where we are stuck, where stagnation and held energy reside in our unique autonomy. Her class is a well-balanced sequence of postures that systemically open every area of the body for exploration. Participants are encouraged to move slowly and deliberately while letting go of expectations for achievement.
TYLER JACKSON // Tyler found yoga in his early twenties, experimenting through this authentic art form and therapeutic practice for healing, redirection and reconstruction of the self. Through adopting a diverse appetite for more than one movement modality, inspired by the biomechanics of the body, the work of Tom Myers and Katy Bowman (anatomy talk will be on the menu during each class), workshops with Jozef Frucek & Linda Kapetanea creators of Fighting Monkey and Frey Faust and the research of Axis Syllabus has encouraged a focus on developing an adaptive approach, using creativity to nourish the individual’s path towards having a movement practice. Tyler is a graduate of Breathe’s 300 hour teacher training program, and is certified in yin/restorative yoga and received a Pilates certificate through East to West Yoga & Pilates. He has also volunteered with SKETCH in the movement studio, taught Kids Yoga workshops, and developed Yoga for Cyclists. Tyler’s classes merge functional movement with playful flow, core strengthening and deep concentration. He leads challenging and highly original sequences with his own blend of humour, real talk and good natured encouragement. https://www.movemanual.com/
AMANDA STOKES // Amanda fell in love with yoga for its ability to transform…transform your day, your mindset, your body, and your awareness overall. She teaches in an approachable, light-hearted manner; creating intelligent sequences that are fun and engaging yet challenging.Having completed her initial training at Yoga Space in Toronto; Amanda credits her depth and understanding of the body and breath to her teachers, Kathryn Beet, Patricia White and Hali Schwartz. Amanda has also trained in Trauma Informed Yoga with David Emerson.A keen believer in the body’s ability to heal itself, Amanda is pleased to offer Yoga, Reiki, and Thai Massage to assist others in restoring balance in their lives.
JEN GILLMOR // Jennifer’s musical exploration has covered rich and varied territory. She is a multi-instrumentalist with a musical family that includes bass guitar, cello, kamel n’goni, didgeridoo, found and made objects, flutes, various percussion, berimbau, musical saw, jaw harp, and sample-based sequencing. She has performed and recorded in projects ranging from funk to folk, rock to reggae, music influenced by traditions of African and Celtic cultures as well as experimental projects that can draw few comparisons. http://jengillmormusic.ca/
SEED // Students for Education, Empowerment and Development is a Canadian-registered charity that facilitates access to education in Kenya through high school scholarships, university scholarships, and operating a primary school. Since 2006, SEED has raised over $200,000 to support education in Kenya, with approximately 3% spent on operating costs. http://www.seedkenya.com/
