31 Day Polar Dip-A-Thon

3 pals polar dipping every day for the month of January with 3 objectives in mind:

1. Raise money for Phoenix Youth.

2. Help end the stigma surrounding mental illness.

3. Continue the conversation about the importance of mental health.

Who is Phoenix Youth?

Phoenix Youth is a registered charity and community-based organization dedicated to supporting youth between the ages of 11 and 24, their families, and communities across multiple locations in Halifax.  Started by five community members in 1987 with the objective of tackling the city's housing and youth homelessness crisis, Phoenix Youth has now expanded to offer a wide range of services and programs to help youth address the challenges and obstacles in their lives, including mental health.

Where is your money going?

Funds raised through #dipformentalhealth will be directed toward Phoenix Youth and Family Therapy (PYFT) and Phoenix Centre for Youth (PCFY). PYFT is an early intervention program that offers free clinical therapy to youth (11-24 years old) and their families through a team of masters-level social workers. PCFY is a drop-in centre which offers a range of supports to youth 16-24 years old including crisis management, advocacy, and health services. PCFY's team of case managers offer individualized support to help youth navigate their world, including support around mental health and addictions.
