HHS24 Ryan Lotsberg - 2024 Heavy Hockey Showdown for SACE : WeR4SACE

I'm raising funds for the Sexual Assault Centre of Edmonton (SACE) as part of the 2024 Heavy Hockey Showdown, a charity hockey game to be played in benefit of SACE on February 25, 2024.

SACE provides support for victims of sexual assault including crisis support, counselling, court support, and advocacy. I know victims of sexual assault. They aren't my stories to tell, but I've gotten a glimpse of the impact it can have on someone's life. Instances of sexual assault are far too prevalent, and it needs to stop.

I'm proud to be a writer for the Heavy Hockey Network. Sexual assualt cases in hockey that have emerged in recent years have shone a light on just how broken hockey culture really is. Raising funds and awareness for SACE is the most important aspect of the Heavy Hockey Showdown, but taking the opportunity to start a discussion about the broken hockey culture and about potential solutions is also important.

Any dollar that you donate will be used to provide support for victims of sexual assault, and it will go towards a reduction of future instances of sexual assault.
