More about the Israel-Hamas war

Hostilities between Israel and Hamas rage on. In the words of United Nations Secretary General António Guterres, the hostilities in Gaza and Israel have “created appalling human suffering, physical destruction and collective trauma across Israel and the Occupied Palestinian Territory.”1

In October 2023, Hamas launched an attack on southern Israel, killing hundreds of civilians and soldiers and taking dozens more as hostages who remain captive to this day. This led to Israel’s declaration of war on Hamas and the continuing crisis has had dire humanitarian consequences.
