I’m writing on behalf of the CanadaHelps Board of Directors, to let you know that, after nine years with the organization, Marina Glogovac has decided to take on a new professional challenge and will be stepping down from her role as President & CEO at the end of May.
Marina joined CanadaHelps in 2013 and since that time she has transformed the organization into a critical platform and service provider supporting digital transformation in the sector, a thriving social enterprise, and has proven that “tech for good” isn’t just a buzz term. She has created a sophisticated team of technology professionals, including software designers, data scientists, digital marketers, support staff, and more, all with passion for using their skills for the betterment of our communities. Marina has consistently demonstrated a deep caring for and understanding of the needs of charities and donors, and steadfastly worked to ensure CanadaHelps’ independence and mission focus.
Today, more than 26,000 charities and 3 million Canadians (and growing) use the tools and platforms that were launched under Marina’s leadership, and CanadaHelps’ reach and impact continues to grow. In Marina’s time as President & CEO, donations given through CanadaHelps have grown from all-time total of $300 million to nearly $2.2 billion, and a remarkable number of fundraising solutions have been launched, including a Donor Management System, as well as educational tools and resources — all through self-generated financing.
“It has been one of the greatest honours in my life to lead this organization and to have had the opportunity to meet, serve, and be inspired and humbled by the tireless efforts of those who choose a career in the charitable sector. When I look back at this time, it is hard to believe all that we accomplished thanks to our brilliant team. I leave with so much to be proud of, and excited knowing that the CanadaHelps leadership and staff, supported by the Board of Directors, has so much more they will continue to do.” – Marina Glogovac
Jane Ricciardelli, who currently serves as CanadaHelps’ COO, will take on the additional role of Interim CEO, effective June 1st. Jane has had a long career in general management and scaling of tech and digital marketing companies, including the Blockchain Research Institute, CarbonX, Exchange Solutions, Lavalife, and Medium One. Working alongside a strong Executive Team as well as a broader Management Team, I am confident that this organization will be in great hands while the Board proceeds with a search for new leadership.
I speak for the entire Board of Directors in saying that we are so proud of all CanadaHelps has achieved under Marina’s leadership. We offer her our deepest thanks and appreciation for her enormous contributions, as well as our sincerest best wishes in her new opportunity.
Sincerely,
Ruth MacKenzie
