Overview
A spring seed blessing, teaching time, seed swap, sharing circle and feast
Details
Eastman Seed Savers & the Sandy-Saulteaux Spiritual Centre invite you to join us for a time of sharing seeds and stories.
We will gather at 10:00 for a time of ceremony and teaching, followed by some hands-on learning about seed saving and gardening and the opportunity to trade seeds with each other.
At noon we'll share a feast of three sisters stew (vegetarian and gluten free) and bannock, followed by a sharing circle to close our time together.
All ages are welcome. If the registration fee is a barrier, email connect@sandysaulteaux.ca to request a discount code.
To safeguard the health of guests, staff and the community, Sandy-Saulteaux Spiritual Centre requires all participants to provide proof of full vaccination against COVID-19 and to wear a mask while indoors. We strongly encourage maintaining two meters of physical distancing except for brief exchanges where masks are used.
1) Seeds
In the spirit of a “Seedy Saturday” gathering, you are invited to bring non-GMO seeds or bulbs you’ve saved to trade with others. Bring them in labeled packages with the type of seed, year saved, growing instructions and any other details you can share about the plant. If you don’t have any seeds to trade, Eastman Seed Savers will also have extras to offer in exchange for a suggested donation of $1/seed packet.
2) Stories
During the sharing circle you will have the chance, if you like, to tell some of the story behind the seeds you’ve brought.
3) Mask & proof of COVID-19 vaccination
You will be asked to present proof of full vaccination upon arrival. Masks should be worn at all times when indoors, except when eating or drinking. A negative Covid Test with results 48 hours prior to arrival will be accepted for individuals un-able to be vaccinated for a specific medical reason as defined by the Province of Manitoba.
