Grounded in the understanding that food is a basic human right, the Ottawa Community Food Partnership works to assist social service agencies develop beyond the traditional charity model of food banking, towards models that are centered on food justice and food sovereignty. The OCFP is administered by the Parkdale Food Centre. The OCFP operates Cooking For A Cause Ottawa (CFACO), which was established in the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic to help fill the food void which impacted vulnerable communities and support services while creating meaningful business for our food and restaurant community. Serving over 31 social service agencies including harm reduction sites, food banks, community resource centres, senior social housing and respite centres. Other programming includes Community Fridges, Governance Support, Volunteer training, Cultural Celebrations and much more.
