As part of the oldest and largest women’s social service organization in Canada, the YWCA Edmonton has been serving the capital region since its founding in 1907. We are a women’s organization that advances the wellness and growth of women, girls and families. Our North Star is equity and social progress for all.
Advocacy | We advocate for equity in our community, inclusive of all. Our advocacy aims to end gender-based violence, achieve economic equality, reduce barriers to social supports and foster leadership in women & girls.
Camp Yowochas | Camp Yowochas is YWCA Edmonton's highly-regarded outdoor education centre and summer camp, hosting more than 9,400 children, youth, and adults each year.
Counselling Services | We offer affordable mental health supports to anyone who needs it. We provide more than 3,500 hours of counselling to approximately 400 clients annually.
Disability Services | We serve adults and children with disabilities and/or medical fragility, from across Alberta, the NWT and Nunavut. Our Disability Services serves close to 200 children and adults with disabilities each year, empowering them to achieve their full potential through community support.
Youth Programs | We create a safe and welcoming environment for youth to ask questions, learn critical thinking skills, and share with their peers. We address a variety of topics including: healthy relationships, financial literacy and civic engagement.
Healing Haven Retreats | Indigenous-led healing retreats for family members of Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls and Two-Spirit people. These land and art-based gatherings honour the memories of missing and murdered Indigenous, women and Two-Spirit people.
