About YOUTH PARLIAMENT OF BRITISH COLUMBIA ALUMNI SOCIETY
The Youth Parliament of BC Alumni Society is the sponsoring organization of the British Columbia Youth Parliament (BCYP). Approximately 97 youth aged 16 to 21 selected to represent their communities are brought together each December at the Legislative Buildings in Victoria to debate current issues and plan a year-long agenda of community service projects.
Camp Phoenix, the largest project undertaken by BCYP, has successfully provided a week-long summer camp experience for children otherwise unable to attend a camp due to social or financial circumstances.
Each BCYP member undertakes to perform a significant amount of volunteer work throughout their year-long term, in addition to organizing BCYP's significant group projects and fundraising activities.
