YIEF co-creates innovative solutions to address complex issues facing First Nations.
The Yellowhead Indigenous Education Foundation (YIEF) co-creates innovative solutions to address complex issues facing First Nations. Our vision is to support Indigenous student success that enables them to participate in the competitive global economy. Our Foundation provides Indigenous students with access to programs rooted in lifelong learning in their language, culture, traditions and practices.
We support students at the Yellowhead Tribal College with scholarships, and are developing the Blossoming Flower Land-Based Education, and the Exploring wâhkôhtowin board game.
Blossoming Flower Land-Based Education, provides programming for children, youth and families that builds strong, healthy relationships with ourselves, with each other and with the land. Our programming follows Indigenous worldviews and Forest School principles. Our year-round multilingual camp, daycare and school programs take place on the land.
The Exploring wâhkôhtowin board game aspires to spark engagement between Indigenous and non-Indigenous people. The game promotes learning and understanding in an interactive way that will break down barriers and foster anti-racist behaviour.
